With the election coming, the current administration has undergone some shifts in policy.
Recent shifts:
GLBT rights
Legalize marijana
Stopping deportation: http://nbcpolitics.msnbc.msn.com/_news/ ... rants?lite
I fear they are politically motivated, but it will be interesting to see how they shape this election; much like how the "ban on gay marriage" shaped the Bush/Kerry election. This time it looks like many states will have a "legalize it" question on the ballot. Both men do not like the spin of Obama/Romneycare, and so they will need to find other topics to talk about and polarize on.

Re: Recent Administration Shifts
Isn't everything politically motivated up in Washington? Even the complaints one side voices about the other side doing something for political reasons, is politically motivated. But in the end, who cares? It's the outcome that matters. Is the policy a good one or a bad one? If it's good, then it doesn't matter why they passed it. That's my point of view anyway.

Re: Recent Administration Shifts
I agree, and I guess that is my point. Does anyone think the recent policy changes are good? Have they been done to win an election? Do you think the are progressive or desparation? Do you think the Immigration Policy gaurentees that Romney picks Rubio as VP? Is legalizing pot good/bad?
