Hybrids are too quiet

Peering into a future chock-full of hybrids and electric cars, NHTSA has proposed rules that will require electric vehicles and hybrid electric vehicles to emit sounds when moving at slow speeds. It did not, however, specify what kind of noise they should make.

I'm sorry, but this is a stupid regulation.

Good Day, Jeff.

I tend to agree with these cars need sound. On several occasions I have been nearly hit by them. I have parking lot duty before and after camp. As I am trying to get the kids safley into their cars before a distracted parents runs them over. Being able to hear a car moving toward me when I am warding a child to safety helps.

Sincerely

Thomas
