"Official" Camo

By Official, I mean the type of camo the majority of us would like to be seen in so we can be identified as a team. We can of course require this dress code but I leave that up to the rest of you. Jeff and I were talking (this is Rob btw) and he mentioned that you all were discussing selecting Tiger Stripe a the type of camo we would all wear. I do like the look of Tiger Stripe, however, based on some research of airsoft apparell and some quick searches of the general net, I have only found the basic BDU set (jackets, shirts, pants ect...) to be readily available. Now I only spent about 15 minutes searching for tiger stripe gear. I found a few things besides BDUs but nothing all on one site, and the prices were all considerably higher than what I've seen for gear on airsoft sites. Considering searchs on other camo types immediately brings back a plethora of options, I think it is reasonable to make the assumption that Tiger Stripe camo is in fact much more difficult to come by. (Also of note is a lot of the places I found for this in my search were based in the UK which means higher shipping costs)

I showed Jeff another type of camo that is not as common as ACU or standard woodland garb, but is common enough that plenty of other gear can be found for it. It is called multicam. You can find MOLLE Modular Vests, individual MOLLE add ons such as ammo pouches, radio pouches, leg harnesses as well as other addons. In addition there are also backpacks, gun cases, pistol holsters and more. Below are a bunch of links from Airsoft GI showcasing some of the things they carry in Multicam. I now open this topic up to everyone else. If you have suggestions or comments on other camo types or reasons to go with or against either Tiger Stripe or Multicam, please do so here!

I know Death Korps came up. I don't know if I like the idea of being called Death Korps, as that's kinda like introducing yourself as "Badass". All that aside, I did have three "thoughts" on it.

Incase, you don't follow:

1. I like Kevin's suggestion to make the gas mask some what functional, and have it hide a camelpack in the breathing line.
2. The opposite side could be an exhaust fan.
3. The shoulder plates could be painted with fireteam name, logo, and your name.

The more I look at tiger stripe, the more I think of pajamas.

That is kind of funny, because that is what we said about the ACU when we switched to them compared to how the BDUs fit.

I would have to agree with Zombie about the Tiger stripe. I am a fan of the german fleck tarn. I am also a fan of OD. It is a good, easy color to find. Almost everything goes with it. It can be broken up in the wild with camo colored gear. I am a big fan of a solid color like tan or OD(olive drab).

Also what do you guys think of having a field dress and a CQB dress. I only ask because I love the Navy colored swat gear. Something about full camo in a plywood building strikes me as funny.

the first idea i had from my kit was full od green with black tack gear. witch i thought would go good in both in side and out. with the tiger strips i was still thinking on the black tack gear.

I'm totally down with OD gear with black tack vests. I actually wanted this myself originally but figured everyone would want something else. I vote OD with black tack gear. I also like Kevin's idea of the blues as a secondary.

Alot of us already have black vests. I would say 3 of us. So I would go with that.

Ok so black it is. But i think that I might still get some multicam, as a second kit. Look at these pics... http://www.multicampattern.com/gallery.html I had all kinds of trouble finding a few of the dudes!

As far as looks go I personally love OD with black. However, in outdoor environments, it is not nearly as functional. I personally will be buying Multicam since most of our play is outdoors. If we end up deciding on OD w/ black then I will purchase a set of that as well for use in CQB situations. I think that having Multicam for outdoors and OD w/ black for CQB makes a lot of sense. The link from Kevin shows how well this stuff blends in.

multi cam is a good idea as well. I would recommend not wearing a big red hydro-pac as well as it is easy to pick out
