Remember when the Stegadon was big? You don't even see the rider anymore on these new models. I wonder if the Lizardman will get something else BIG.

Re: Empire, Dragons, and More!
Has anyone seen the new Empire book yet? I'm hearing some rumblings on the internet, but I was wondering if anyone had seen it first hand. Sounds like they got hit with the nerf bat pretty good in certain areas, which they kinda needed. I'm hearing that just about all core troops went up by a point, the mortar got (rightfully) knocked down a peg, the war altar is now stubborn instead of unbreakable, and the steam tank is now a much more reasonable T6. It more or less sounds like the super boring gunline build with 2 steam tanks, a war altar, and a billion dispel dice from warrior priests died a horrible death.
That said, the new stuff sounds pretty good. The new contraptions sound fun and the demi-gryphon knights are a nice addition for something like 60 points a pop. Detachments got both more and less dangerous. Co-charge is gone, so you can't use detachments offensively. However, the parent unit now passes damned near everything to their detachments with 3". If a parent unit is stubborn, so is the detachment. If they have hatred, so does the detachment. If a warrior priest gets a prayer off on the parent unit, the detachment gets the bonus as well. I'd say that's well worth the 1 point increase on the core units. Overall, it looks like GW may have once again actually hit the nail on the head with this book. They nerfed it in a few places that were needed (mortar, warrior priest dispel dice, steam tank, war altar), added in some fun new toys, and gave it a good internal balance that should encourage a large diversity of army lists.

I have not seen it, but that is basically what I am getting from the rumblings.
