Bits

Post by MorGrendel »

Jason, did I give you my Rat Ogre bits? Given my recent realization about Bonebreakers, think I might have to build some.

They're monstrous beasts.

What improvement is that over what he thought they were originally? What did you think they were originally?

They make my hero a point tougher. I've preferred warlitters for the points, but maybe bonebreakers are worth the T boost.

Keep in mind, that makes them targetable even within a unit since you have to be on the same size base to benefit from look out sir. That said, a warlitter does the same thing, so yeah, I'd go for it. I'm looking forward to my next game with Jason to see how an Eagle Prince works out.

Ah right. And 5 attacks at strength 5, with weapon skill 4 is awesome! I think your mount is better then your warlord. Oh and you get stomp and swiftstride with that ogre.

And since it's a mount, and not a monster, the armor of the warlord counts for the model.

I would give that warlord the 10pt shield for 2+ armor save, the 60 pt Sword of Bloodshed for +3 attacks, and either the 5+ ward save (30 pts), or the 6+ ward save (15pts) and poisoned attacks.

Now you have a T5, 2+armor, 5(6+) ward save general with 7 attacks (potentially poisoned) at ST4, 5 attacks at ST5, a stomp and swiftstride. That's a very killey and also quite defensive build.

Heck, if you want even more survivability, give him a 4+ ward instead and the warlock weapon for a +1ST, +1 Attack. Uber-suviver and still very very killey.

Oh, and the best part, that whole general is only 255 Pts. Cheap! Maybe bring 2 them (decked out similarly) and make a crack team of death. mmmmm, i love it!

Actually, Warlitter counts as infantry, and I get a look out sir. I guess they figure the Stormvermin drop the litter when a cannon is aimed at them. :) Its one of the main reasons I took it over the Bonebreaker. However, now I'm having a hard time even figuring out why, as everyone who can, shoots the bell.

The more I think on it to, the more I realize it would be a great mulder converversion . . . two bodies stitched together! Where are some skaven i can cut up! It's like a mini Hellpit when fielded by itself. I'm just relooking at my magic items now, and finally see a use for World's Edge Armor. 4+Armor, negates one wound and is destroyed if a wound negates the save; so that's two cannon shots to destroy him. Very Interesting!

I think I have some rat ogre's somewhere. I would have to look. I think it would be awesome if you did a completely mechanical rat ogre for your guy to ride on.

Yeah, but I seem to be having a mental block on that. Probably just need to pick up some polystyrene and stare at it for a while.
