Warning: Car related deaths

Post by MorGrendel »

Warning: Sensitive subject

Car related deaths continue to rise for children under 15 months. Another child died of heatstroke yesterday. I'm putting a reminder out to always check your back seat and make a plan on how you can prevent deaths, because this tragedy could happen to anyone.

Check out the link below for more information on the dangers:

Below is an article that shows it could happen to anyone:

I am sorry to say this can't happen to anyone it happens to stupid people. I find it insulting that you think we need this reminder. I have never NEVER forgot that I have had a child. They are on my mind all the time, even if they aren't with me. This is on the news every summer and I know you are a new parent but I find it sad to think you would ever forget that you have your son with you.

I'm sorry if you are insulted. Perhaps, as a new parent I am especially conscience of these news stories, and they feed my greatest fear.

Stupidity has little to do with it, and surprisingly (to me at least) the most likely people to fall victim to it appear to be the obsessive/organized people. It's not that they forget their children, it's that they create a reality wherein they check things off their daily routine and truly believe the child is safe somewhere else.

Ultimately, it is on the rise, and I feel talking about it will heighten awareness.

You fear that you might forget your son somewhere? That is a rational fear that makes you remember. That being said you go to your mothers house to work, if you walked in without Jackson she would slap you in the head.

In all the examples (and maybe I am wrong) all i see are dumb, self-absorbed people that either did it on purpose or are too stupid (self-absorbed) to take care of a child.

I don't think anyone of US would ever forget that we have a child or a child is with us.

PS: example from this week, http://www.cnn.com/2014/06/25/justice/g ... ler-death/ (innocent until proven guilty) he is believed to have done it on purpose. I say he should get the death penalty and be sentenced to death by being left in the car with no way out.
