Fritz, here are the alternate paints I was talking about. I do not know if they are better/worse than GW.

I just love all of the browns and beiges from Privateer Press, they are more natural than most the Citadel ones but not dull.

I'm thinking of doing the mix and match. Probably go with the big Vallajo set and get the fountains and washes from GW. Of course that's when I'm not broke from Christmas...

I stumbled upon this while looking at the paints: the warstore sells GW products at a 20% discount. They don't carry everything, but they do carry an awful lot. Here's the availability list:

Even with shipping costs, this is probably cheaper than going to GW, especially if you order in bulk. The catch is that GW doesn't allow anyone else to actually have an online store, so you have call warstore to place your order. They also aren't allowed to put up a price list, but I emailed them for it. If you want it I can email it to you, but everything really is a straight 20% off.

That looks like a holiday thing unless I'm reading something wrong. The warstore thing is all the time.
