Anyone need/want anything? Making a GW order from a discount site. I got prices and will be getting free shipping if enough is ordered. Which enough will, just don't tell my wife.

You serious Thomas? That would be a pretty penny worth of stuff. If you are, what colors are you looking to paint, and what is your price limit?

I can't get you the Green Knight, but I can get you a Battalion for 67.50. It comes with Image

Nice decent start and a lot of cool different models to paint. I would also suggest a set of clippers, and three brushes minimum.

This is perfect, Image but I can't get it for you. They don't sell it at this discount place. I think we might have a couple of starter paint sets that maybe Jeff or Cook could part with. (I remember seeing one in Cook's Van.) So from me, one Bretonnian Rulebook and one Battalion, 21.75 plus 67.50.

Good Day, Titus

I was planning on spending around $200 to get started give or take. I wanted to go the Serban way and have a few powerful figrues instead of the masses that Jeff and Chris have. I want to paint all figures I owned and it would take forever to paint the masses. I might died before i got it done. I looked at the game workshop web site. Their grail and questing knight sets were $36 each, pegasus set 20.50 bow men set 18.50 green knght 15.50 and king of bretonia 20.50 oh, do I need a wizard or something?

Are these bad prices. This is how I would like to start. if this is the right way to play the game?
I would could really use any help and information about what I truely need. since I really don't have a glue to what I am doing.

Sincerely

Thomas

I thought it was funny!

Thomas, There is no wrong way really. I started my Tyranid (bug) army, solely on my love of the models. I don't think my list is all that competive, but I love the carnage caused when two behemoths bull charge the line. Sometimes the best games are the worst lists. I almost started a Bretonian army, by my love of giant dinosaurs won out.

The Green Knight is a must have. The model is old, but the sculpt is so perfect they have not needed to update it. You will need more models to play, and Grail Nights are a good option when looking to keep the force small. Plus, they are detailed and beautiful models.

Also, the Bretonian army is full of little gems, when it comes to interesting models.
Gui le Gros - I don't know if he serves a purpose, but in a world of forests that eat you and self-destructiong wizards are your allies, you just need a guy carrying the booze.

To that vein, there are a ton of great details on the Bretonnian Grail Reliquae and Battle Pilgrims. From the little dog nipping at the ankle bones, to the pilgrim with the horses bit in his mouth.

Anyway, my suggestion is this, find a model you love, and build your army around it (The Green Knight is a fine choice, and you don't have the always play him as the Green Knight, he could also be your noble lord or a partially-evil imposter. You make up your own story). Otherwise, in my opinion, you will be buying models peicemeal and never love your army.

The Battlion at $67.00 is a steal and should satisfy your "Core" requirement. I recommend buying this.

I whole-hartedly agree with jeff. Build the army based on the models you like, not the strenght of weakeness of the army. In the end, enjoying it is all that matters.

I love ogres and monsters. And I make them my own by modding them to the way that appeals to me.

Thomas also needs a rulebook!

Go ahead and order me the fiend and some clanrats, I'll try to find a way to justify the rats . . .
