Zoysia grass

Hey Thomas et al,
Do you know anything about Zoysia grass? I don't know anything about grass, but I've been told that is the type of grass I have. We pulled up some shrubs, and now have a hole in the yard. I thought I could just buy some seed, but it appears no one sells Zoysia grass, and if I want some I need to steal it from a golf course.

Help!

Good Day, Jeff.

Sorry, No not really. If you can't buy it at a local dealer, call a golf course manager find where they order theirs. Or you may just want to change over to Fescue. Contractor grade is just fine, really no need to pay the extra for the high dollar stuff.

Sincerely

Thomas

It is carried both at Lowes and Home Depot.

Search Results for Zoysia at The Home Depot http://bit.ly/KrPatk
Shop zoysia at Lowes.com: Search Results http://low.es/KrPGYd

They never know and if they don't see it quickly, they say that they don't have it and declare it with confidence.

I wouldn't recommend putting Fescue down in that spot unless you want to convert your entire yard to it. Zoysia has its own look and the Fescue will stand out like a sore thumb. I don't know if there are other summer/tropical grass types that you could use instead, but Fescue is a cool weather grass and has a different growing season and will look green when the Zoysia looks yellow.

Good Day, Jen.

Now, Jeff won't be the first yellow and green polk a dotted lawn on the block

Sincerely

Thomas
