Just watched/listened to this town hall. Wicked awsome. In part two the health care information is so dead on. I wish he had brought up Shriners or St. Jude.

Ron Paul came in second in Nevada. That powers that be are sweeping this under the rug, but if you haven't heard the message I implore you now, join the revolution. Our buddies at Fox aired "someone" asking Ron Paul if he thought he was an electable canidate, and then did not air his response. Corp America will stop at nothing to silence Ron Paul, and sew the seeds of dissension. Stand up for your rights!

Jeff, you do realize that Ron Paul is against the Iraq war right? I'm talking "pull everything out now", more anti-war than Clinton kind of against the war.

I'm against unconstitutional war too. I'm against policing the world. I'm against the war on drugs, the war on terrorism. And when you must go to war, GO TO WAR. Put all our resources into it and be done with it. This may not be warm and fuzzy, but war should only end in three ways; EXTERMINATION, ENSLAVEMENT, or ANNEXATION. This idea of imposed democracy is madness. The line from 9/11 to Iraq makes no sense. Go to war with Iraq because they are breaking the peace after the last war, because we are stopping there ships loaded with missile parts, heck, declare war because of an assassination attempt on daddy, but declare war Us v.s Them. No UN. No Coalition. No Carlyle Group.

Believe me, I can think of no better way of keeping terrorists over there. You attack someone in their backyard, they have to face you there. However, to what end. We have been in Korea for 70 years, and there is no end in sight.

I agree with Paul. Bring our troops home. Spend the money on elder care. Next question.

Blah, Blah, Blah! I hate unconstitutional war! You are telling me that you don't like throwing money at a situation and having no end in site or solution. I think that you are a liar and I challenge you to go on "The moment of truth" and we will find out how you really feel.

Sorry I felt like being like someone else I know for a few minutes

PS: I was just kidding!

Awww Come on Fritz! Let's debate. I'm sure I can convert you from bleeding heart liberal Democrat to fiscally responsible small government Liber...Liberar....Liberarian. (there I said it)

Ha, I'd love to go on the moment of truth, I'd totally win. My bad memory has taught me not to lie, because I won't remember them, and if I did lie it is already forgotten.

Some highlights of Ron Paul’s record include:
Ron Paul is in favor of allowing Americans to keep more of their own money by eliminating the IRS.
Ron Paul is well-known among his colleagues for never having voted for higher taxes or unconstitutional spending.
Ron Paul is a strong proponent of a secure border and against extending welfare to illegals.
Ron Paul supports putting doctors and patients back in charge of health care decisions. He is a staunch defender of health freedom and against government-managed medicine.
Ron Paul adamantly defends our 2nd amendment rights and opposes federal gun regulation.
Ron Paul is strongly pro-life and in favor of repealing Roe v. Wade.
Ron Paul does not support a military draft, and strongly opposes going to war with Iran.
Ron Paul is in favor of capturing Bin Laden and believes that it is critical for the United States to have a strong national defense.
Ron Paul is for protecting individual rights and opposed to unnecessary violations of our privacy like the “Patriot” Act.
Ron Paul supports removing troops from Iraq as soon as possible and allowing Iraqis to take responsibility for their own protection.
Ron Paul believes that it is important to maintaining our national sovereignty by opposing trade organizations like NAFTA, the UN, and the WTO.
Ron Paul wants to stop corporate and banking interests from controlling the U.S. economy. He supports eliminating out-of-control inflation by getting rid of the Federal Reserve.

Libertarianism at it's heart believes that there should be zero government involvement in the economy. Being a historian, and having studied the 1930s, I can say with absolute certainty that the absolute free market does not work. By treating people as commodities, you devalue culture by making it a slave to the market. It is inevitable that as we move closer to toward a true free market, the more people will struggle against it and want government intervention to save them from the worst characteristics of the free market (child labor, 80 hour work weeks, etc). Having lived in Delaware, I can say that I rather like taxes now. There are almost no taxes here and you know what? The roads suck, the schools suck, they never plow anything, and the civic engineers are morons. I mean who the fuck designs some of these parking lots and roads?! Oh and it's boring as hell. So much for all the supposed 'business' that having lower taxes is supposed to bring. So Jeff if you don't like taxes, live in Delaware. I dare you.

It not so much that I'm against taxes, I'm against a tax on gas for education or a tax of cigarettes for education. You want to fund education, fund it and tell me what I owe the state. And let the states run there own education system, get the Fed out. Have you seen what the Fed does with school systems, it called DC, and trust me you don't want to go to school down there.

I'm all for good roads, and I would not even oppose the new 40 cent per gallon hike that is coming if I knew all the money was going to the interstate system (something I think the Fed should oversee). However, since the MD Sales tax went up to 6%, the fed was already charging 11%, and don't forget Local Tax, how long before gas prices are more tax than gas? Oh, and don't let the numbers fool you, around 28% of the cost of gas is labeled as refining cost, but that is mostly just the oil suppliers transfering the taxes and fees that the government charges them on to you.

They know they got you by the balls and so you have to pay.

And as for schools, I went to private school, my tuition if you mark up for inflation per year was close to $3,500 per year. Later I went public, and I won't say it was bad, but I also can't say it was better. DC spent $16,334 per student in 2003, and only 12% could read at level and only 7% could do math at level. Get the Fed out of learning, unless you want our childern fillibustered. If you want we could drop taxes and then people could afford private education. (I'm not saying get rid of public, but let the states run it)

I've been bored, I once lived in Kansas.
As far as being bored, get some friends and a hobby

I've got friends. You bastards are all down south. As for hobbies, most of mine are communal and I share them with you guys. Ah well, only 4 more months.

From what I understand, the gas tax in Maryland is explicitly for the roads. Or at least that is what I've been told by Steph's dad, who covers the session for NPR. And as for "how long before gas prices are more tax than gas?", please. The oil companies are still enjoying record profits. That said, the best way to help a recession would probably be to give them a temporary tax break, as much as they don't deserve it.

In other news, who else hates Bill Clinton (cue Dan)?

Taxes don't work that way. They take them all and throw them in a banking account. They give everyone in charge a credit card and say GO! Then they all go out and try and spend all the money before the other guy. That is also why we always have no money because the bank account has no over draft protection and we always over withdraw.

I even saw while working at Best Buy, two Govt agencies were going after the same Kegerator for their office and one guy kicked the other in the nuts! :x so the guy who got kick went and told Chuck Norris, who just to happened to be in the CD section looking at a Best of Celine Dion 3 disc CD set and the first guy has never been seen again.

I love politics! :D

God I hope that story is true. Politian getting kicked in the nuts, ahhhh.

TO BE ENJOYED BY BOTH PARTIES!
NOT ONLY THAT? IT IS POLITICALLY CORRECT!!

While walking down the street one day a US senator is tragically hit by a truck and dies.

His soul arrives in heaven and is met by St. Peter at the entrance.
'Welcome to heaven,' says St. Peter. 'Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem. We seldom see a high official around these parts, you see, so we're not sure what to do with you.'

'No problem, just let me in,' says the man.

'Well, I'd like to, but I have orders from higher up. What we'll do is have you spend one day in hell and one in heaven. Then you can choose where to spend eternity.'

'Really, I've made up my mind. I want to be in heaven,' says the senator.

'I'm sorry, but we have our rules.'

And with that, St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell. The doors open and he finds himself in the middle of a green golf course. In the distance is a clubhouse and standing in front of it are all his friends and other politicians who had worked with him.

Everyone is very happy and in evening dress. They run to greet him, shake his hand, and reminisce about the good times they had while getting rich at the expense of the people. They play a friendly game of golf and then dine on lobster, caviar and champagne.

Also present is the devil, who really is a very friendly guy who has a good time dancing and telling jokes. They are having such a good time that before he realizes it, it is time to go.

Everyone gives him a hearty farewell and waves while the elevator rises...

The elevator goes up, up, up and the door reopens on heaven where St Peter is waiting for him.

' Now it' s time to visit heaven.'
So, 24 hours pass with the senator joining a group of contented souls moving from cloud to cloud, playing the harp and singing. They have a good time and, before he realizes it, the 24 hours have
gone by and St. Peter returns.

'Well, then, you've spent a day in hell and another in heaven. Now choose your eternity.'

The senator reflects for a minute, then he answers: 'Well, I would never have said it before, I mean heaven has been delightful, but I think I would be better off in hell.'

So St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell.
Now the doors of the elevator open and he's in the middle of a barren land covered with waste and garbage.

He sees all his friends, dressed in rags, picking up the trash and putting it in black bags as more trash falls from above.

The devil comes over to him and puts his arm around his shoulder.

'I don't understand,' stammers the senator. 'Yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and clubhouse, and we ate lobster and caviar, drank champagne, and danced and had a great time. Now there's just a wasteland full of garbage and my friends look miserable.
What happened?'

The devil looks at him, smiles and says, 'Yesterday we were campaigning...... Today you voted.'
