the kendo guy keeps doing the chop chop move. In the first movie, the escrimador stops caring about his feet and only concentrates on defending his head since the kendo guy won't do any other attacks.. and you right, closing in is also another mistake. The escrimador has the advantage when in close due to the short sticks.

i'm no expert but kendo guy is more concerned with proper form than making a sound attack.
