Hosted by Shire of Eisental - Lehighton, PA
Event Last Modified: April 25th, 2006
War is nearly upon us! To help all make ready, The Shire of Eisental would host East Kingdom War Camp on July 21-23, 2006 at the Ukrainian Homestead, Beaver Street, Lehighton, PA 18235. We have reorganized the site this year to enable us to expand our Martial activities.
To hone our defenses the fighting will take the form of battle scenarios to see that we are all prepared for the battles ahead, this year we are pleased to announce that we are able to accommodate Combat Archery during the fighting. We will also be set up to practice the various archery shoots for Pennsic including a clout shoot. An area will be set aside for fencers who wish to make ready for their Pennsic War Points. Youth Combat practice and authorizations will be held in the afternoon. All this and merchants too!
The Site will open at 4pm on Friday and closes at 2pm on Sunday. In addition to all the martial activities, there will be scheduled children's activities, swimming, (please note, swimming is at your own risk, there is NO LIFEGUARD – all minors MUST be accompanied by an adult while in the pool area), and did we mention the merchants?
Food: A simple day board will be offered on Saturday afternoon from noon to 3pm. Just prior to Court we will open a “Court Board” of light fare at the back of the Court area. NO feast will be offered. There are restaurants within a 5 to 10 minute drive from the site. As for Sunday morning, we will be offering a fund raising breakfast for all. Donations to go to the EK, we just haven't decided for what yet.
The site offers no handicap access, is wet (well, there is a tended bar on site open from noon to 2:00am), grills are allowed, but no ground fires. Camping is encouraged, however, for those that prefer there is a hotel on the site available for an extra per night charge, and must be reserved in advance, there is also a newly renovated building on site with modest rooms and a communal bathroom for additional charge, please contact Lady Ellesbeth Donofrey for availability and fees.
Large Group land encampments: For those groups containing 10 or more individuals who wish to camp together. Please contact Lord Gino Rossi and Lady Tiecia O'Scanlan at
lngrossi@f-tech.net or by calling (570) 429-0807. Please be aware due to the growing number of individuals and large groups attending this event that some things have changed. Thank you in advance for your co-operation.
