Now, Now boys. None of that. We are all still learning our new armies. If Jason made a mistake, I'm sure he'll double-check it now. I didn't press it in our battle because I'm used to Lizards that always striking last, and I had the win well in hand. The post above is to accumilate what we learned, not to call out others for cheating. Stay friendly, and don't ruin this.

Oh, and to that point Serban and I just had a great game. It might have been a rout of the goblins, who suffered horribly from animosity, if I had not shown Serban some things he could do to "beat" me. Because of my advice he almost snatched victory from the jaws of defeat. As you can imagine this made for a very enjoyable game.

BTW: The lessons I learned from the game, Spearmen do not get parry save! and +1 for charging.
Serban's Note: Trolls cause fear and stomp on peeps as well.

Here is a loose breakdown:
Battle: Watchtower - (held by Goblin)
Deploy: 20 Gobbo Archers in Tower, Gobbos and Skaven deploy on western (TV) side of table edge.

Turn 1: Skaven approach Watchtower from all sides. Skaven Clan Rat units line up so as to crisscross paths (very sneaky)
Gobbo move forward, troll stupid, Magic ring dispelled, Archers and fanatic each kill 1.

Turn 2: Skaven CR charge tower - Win - Gobbos flee through Slave unit in rear of tower - lose 1. Nearby Gb Spears panic and flee. CR choose not to enter tower and reform to facing the fleeing Goblins in front of them. Slaves charge Gb spearmen - lose - explode does a wound to both trolls. Gb spears pursuit, reform to face flank of tower CRs.
Both Goblins fail animosity, can not charge. (i think - overrunning Goblins did not charge, but that may have been because the other CR unit was aligned in such a way as to charge in flank) Troll still stupid.

Turn 3: Tower CR charge Stupid troll. Slaves from behind tower charge hill Goblins. Angled CR char Gb Spears. Angled CRs - win - overun Gbs - kill Gb General - collide with far troll. Tower CR - win - overrun troll - reform at angle to attack GBs next turn (this will be a costly mistake). Hill Gbs beat slaves, they explode killing two CR. Gbs pursuit past Tower CR, and reform facing their flank.
GB charge Tower CR - win - Overrun - destroy Skaven general.

Turn Four: CR defeat troll and chase him off the board.
Gb Archers finally run off board. Fanatic retuns and bee lines it towards returning CR.

Remaining turns: Skaven decide making a run for the watch tower will put them sideways to the Gb Spears and fanatic, and decide instead to head headlong into the spearmen to finish it. It takes them a bit and the spears are content to wait on their hill. The fanatic gets close, but never strikes the CR, choosing instead to travel along side, until Skaven and Goblin begin killing one another. At that point he zooms off away from the combat. It took a few rounds for a winner to emerge, but in the end it was the Skaven.

Farhet would be proud.

Titus wrote:- The rats must of come in on the dwarven ships last month. Something was odd with the location of these occurrences. While the dwarves are staying to the foothills on the south side of island, the rat tracks are being found all over. The dwarves have started mining the southern foothills, but only Asuryan knows what they found of interest over there. As long as they stay away from the Waystone and the ancient site hidden in the center of the shifting woods on the west side of the island, Draghone was more than content to let them chip away at the earth and take what they wanted.
I like the map a lot. Just think it needs a couple of changes. Clayson would be the dwarves to the south, but Kevin's would just be making landfall from any direction, as his story was they were a long lost Dwarven Fleet lost in time and just now arriving on this island after a couple of centuries. So you could switch the Northern Dwarves with the Skaven, as your guys are coming out of tunnels, and they are arriving by boat.
Second, can I ask for the map to be changed to reflect the story that I wrote back in my first fluff session. So, Elvish Waystone, and the Artifact placed in the Shifting Woods on the West side. if it is too hard to edit, I could just edit my post to say east. I think a tower and building should be placed in the starting area of the Elves, seeing as this is supposed to be a forward outpost against a possible Norse invasion.
Other than that, it is awesome. What program did you use to do it? I was going to just use PowerPoint so I could just move objects as necessary.

On a side note, how do I get it to auto resize the pictures so they fit in my browser without me having to use the scroll bars. I see it do it on your Morg, but it doesn't do it on mine.

Changes made.
I sized down the images for you, however you still need to scroll up and down. I will explore other options.

I realize now you may have been asking something else, and the answer is to click the image.

Kevin: Per your remark yesterday about tone on the internet, your two options are emoticons or tags like so:
Of course I lost.
Of course you knew that rule.

[Rant] Of course I lost, AGAIN. [\Rant]
[Dripping Sarcasm] Of course you knew that rule. [\Dripping Sarcasm]

That said, words like "cheated" and "lied" never come across well (noting sarcasm will not help) to people that play honor-based games.

Went 3 for 4 over the weekend. Bested Orcs, High Elves, and Tomb Kings, and got beat by Orcs.

What I learned:
Orc Bosses are rough, especially when kitted out.
Shields are still worth every point, and slaves are totally awsome.
My army is full of toys, and I must resist the urge to use all of them. (totally let me down, except the cannon which did alright.)
The magic can really rip you up . . . Skaven Magic, however, will kill the caster on a 1 in 6 chance . . . Do'h
Every cool Magic Item is a Arcane Item . . . and you can only have one.

Since there were no watchtower rules that I could find:
Watchtower/Outpost:
Only enter from one side. Three stories for shooting. +1 to shooting from inside unit.(NEW) Follow all other Building Rules.

Also since we have so many “Stones” (maybe replace 4 or 10 from list):
1. Standing stones/Stalagmites:
Dangerous Terrain (See Marshes, 1&2 for cav). Hard Cover.

2. Stone Circle:
Treat as a one story building. Hard Cover. Open Top.

3. Stone Hollow:
Units inside cause fear.

4. Loose and Falling Rocks:
Any model regardless of size that fails a dangerous terrain test is removed, no armor saves allowed.

5. Obelisk:
Any Wizard within 6” adds +1 to Channeling attempts.

6. Echo Stones:
+1 Leadership to units within 6"

Probably somewhere in there I should have made an Impassable. Thoughts?

I'll say this, I guess I did not play enough. I keep thinking I'm going to get Warhammered out, but no, each game seems to motivate the next. Now maybe its the speed of 500ish points that I enjoy, but you know me I'm rarely 50% on anything, so I guess I've dived in. Though, since I'm storing WH in every room but the kitchen, it hard not to trip over something WH so that may also account for why I have it on the brain.

How many days are you back for, Fritz?

Played Serban on Tues. Another close game. We used 6 piece of the new terrain including a wizard's portal and a river torrent. Made for an interesting game, proving, I think, terrain is the equalizer of troops. When we get to higher point values, we will need a bigger table and I can see the hoard armies getting seriously bogged down. (boo)

I think there is too much magical terrain. I almost which they had either decided d3 special terrain and d6 regular terrain, or wrote more scenarios around this special terrain.

Oh, and I just read that level 0 wizards can not cast spells.

I really need to get working on that Psych paper...

I'm back for 2 days really. I fly in Friday night, stay for Saturday and Sunday, and fly back out on Monday. I'll be around at Christmas for a bit longer. I'll be getting in on the 23rd and flying out on the 3rd of January. Steph is actually going to be there a bit earlier for her dad's birthday, so you'll have Steph for about 5 days without me (I know you all like her better anyway).

What page? I tried to do a quick scan of magic but could not find it.

Also picked up a set of these to put my bolt throwers on, basically they are going to be a mini diorama for each one. They are just the rocks, the flock was added after paining, but you guys get the idea. But I can have 4 bolt throwers in my army, don't know if I am going to go for the full battery or not.

You better get stated teaching her how to play then, so she can fill in for you until you get back.
