Hmmmm . . . I have been thinking about using all those extra body parts to make a Pillar of Biting Heads. Rumor is that in Jan I get a new Hellpit Abomination kit. Also Magic Cards . . .

New Errata out.
Kevin, Good News!
Page 28 – Oath Stones, 1)
Change “They do not lose their rank bonuses if charged in
flank or rear,” to “They cannot be disrupted,”. Add “Also, the
models in the unit may make supporting attacks in any
direction, and if they have shields, they get their Parry save
against attacks coming from any side.”
I would have just said all sides count as a front, because its not like you can move after you put the stone down, right? Ofcourse, then I guess you'd have to add a rule that casulties are taking from the opposite side, which could get harry too! Hmmmm.... However, I have to agree I like the idea of one massive unit that holds the center/objective.

Hey Jason,
Did you get a chance to make copies of the WH Objectives from that White Dwarf I gave you?

No, I completely forgot. I will have to do that next year. Do you remember what the cover looked like?

Okay, so a status of forces and a couple of observations within my forces.
List of what I have:
19 Swordmasters (need one more to fill it out)
2 Mages
1 Noble
1 Noble on Griffin
2 Bolt Throwers
40 Sea Guard
10 Phoenix Guard
1 Standard Bearer
I need some way to take out other army war machines. The warp lightning cannon just wrecks my army. Hence the reason I got the Phoenix Guard, just to try and survive the dang thing. Need to get another box of them, but at 41.50 a box, that is going to be awhile. I want to try out a unit great eagles. My bretonnian flying cav has shown me the benefit of having something that can fly and able to hit hard. But, I don't like the eagles. I am looking for something that is a suitable fill-in. I was thinking an air elemental of some sort, but no one makes a decent rightly scaled model. I might have to try my hand at crafting by hand.
Magic is just so-so. It all depends on what spells you get. When I get up to 2k points and I can have 2 life mages playing off each others spells, it might be different. But as a damage dealer, I have had no such luck. Every time I try fire to deal magic damage, I just end up killing myself and half my army.

Skaven Update:
20 Stormvermin added - Sprayed
Screaming Bell added - mostly constucted, making modular
Second Doomwheel almost complete
Thinking of starting a Hellpit Abomination.
Thoughts:
Still unsure about magic. Currently kills as much of mine as the opponents.
WLCs are awesome, but in general shooting is weaker than I expected. Generally, toys never earn their points back.
Higher points means I think I'll be moving to 50 man Slave units. I can wait to see what happens when they explode.
Still not sure on Stormvermin.

New Erreta out. Looks like our book is two versions behind.
Of note, a new groaner:
Q: Is damage caused by a miscast counted as a spell? Can a model
with Magic Resistance add it to its ward save against it? Is any
damage caused counted as being caused by the Wizard? (p34)
A: No to all questions.
Wait, a miscast is not magical !!!

Well, it sort of makes sense depending on how you case spells. For my ogres, it would make sense as I cast spells by first eating rotten meat from enemies slain (their heads, their brains, etc), and when I miscast, the meat got to me first and poisoned me or something.

Yeah, but, ... Magical brains . . . that cause you to explode dealing a STR 10 hit to everyone within 3". I have to beleive its magic at work, not your Butcher gagging and spraying his comrades in a water-sprinkler fashion. As funny as that might be.

So as I stated earlier, I want to build a HPA, but i was inspired last night to build a war litter instead. Check it out! I'm going to add more trophy heads, but I started getting tired and making mistakes so I stopped. Now I just have to figure out how it's carried into battle, being that everyone in the warhammer world is right handed.
