Good Day, Kevin. Jeff.

No, just the regular models, but they are tough enough for these eyes. The boody sword belts have three straps and buckles which are so close it is hard to see where one ends and the other starts, plus all the straps for the armor and spurs are really small. all my brushes are to big. then the headdress on the helmets are very detailed. I should have done what jason did and just cut them off. No worries jeff I have plenty of the basic painting to keep me occupied for a while. I am not sure I can play with the way I paint. I found that it is much easier for me to paint the pieces before I assemble them. I could make little blocks that say archers, men at arms, knights and so forth. But i don't think it will add to the game.

Sincerely

Thomas

Oh, you are sprue painting . . . That may make it harder to reach certain areas. I don't have an issue with basing on the sprue, but I think you need a better hand position to paint detail.

See this: (they even make an archery anology)

At times, I even lock my pinkies for support.

Well...I might be starting a new army too. The movers have misplaced my Empire army.

Nope. Worse yet the idiots labelled it on the manifest as an "empty plastic suite case." I foresee a fun fight with DPS in the near future.

See, if they were painted . . .

Surpised they didn't call it a gun case . . . I wonder what is worth more. We have airsoft picts!

Leaning toward trying an Anvil of Doom centered maneuver Dwarf army again. The new combat system seems to favor it more than the previous edition. It would look something like this:

Runelord with Anvil of Doooooooooooooooooooom
Thane Battle Standard Bearer
4x 25 Dwarfs with Great Weapons
20 Hammerers
Cannon
Flame Cannon

Dwarfs with giant axes and hammers running straight at you. What's not to like?

Jeff, have you seen this one?

Yours is actually much cooler, but this one is neat too.

So played a game with Jeff before he left for Pennsic with da Dwarfs. It was ok, but kinda bland, so not all that different from last time. I looked at the Dwarf tacticas on Bugman's and I just saw a bunch of meh.

Back to the drawing board. I think I'm just gonna have to do the 'what models do I love' test. I'm leaning toward the damned pointy ears again with a couple different themes in mind. The first idea is a lion themed army. In addition to a good number of white lions, I'm thinking of using some white lion torsos on the basic spearmen and maybe doing some kind of lion cavalry with the lions from the white lion chariot and using the dragon price rules. The second idea is to just say fuck it to conventional wisdom and go with a dragon and lots of dragon princes. Both themes have to potential to look awesome on the tabletop.

I did see it. Figures they wait until I've already done it to do something. I like it, but I'm not sure its a cool as mine either.

The thing is the lion themed army is more of my play style and has the potential to look much more unique. That said...DRAGONS!

White lions are 45 dollars a boxed set for ten msrp, if that helps influence your decision.

41.25 actually. I did the number crunch and the white lion army is actually about $100 cheaper, but that's before the bits I would need. With the bits they're pretty much the same cost. At this point I'm leaning toward the lions. The look would be pretty unique and the idea of dudes with giant axes riding lions is too cool of a conversion idea to pass up.

It all depends on how much money, if any, i get from this DPS settlement anyway. They owe me a little over $800 by my (conservative) estimate, but we'll see if they actually pay up...
