I disagree. Agrue, debate, discuss. This is how change starts. We should build a separate board, but it should not be hidden. Say what you say because you believe it, even if it is wrong. There is no such thing as a wasted idea or belief. We lose everything if we no longer have faith that people can make educated desisions. This world is breaking up into the extremes. We have killed the concepts of Moderates and Centrist because there just isn't any money in it. Anyone who wants to end this conversation just because we disagree needs to learn the word cyberbalkanization. I don't fear the government quieting the unpopular masses, I worry we have lived so long in a politically correct doctrine that we do it to ourselves even without instruction.

He was talking about taxes, and that America should take care of its citizens. Unfortunately it's difficult to find a system people won't take advantage of. Unemployment, Social Security, Welfare programs all allow people to sit on their butts while other people work to pay for their food & housing & video games.

Morg - Yes, there are small businesses that make less than $250,000. Employees work part-time and get no benefits, the owner doesn't make much, etc. They may be side businesses. Think the family that runs a convenience store, little art studios. Besides, aren't they talking individual income, not company revenue? Income comes after materials/goods and expenses. And trickle-down economics has already been tested and it failed!

What some of you don't realize for some reason is that a little more money in your pocket (tax cuts) means less money for schools, road repair, health care, national security, paying back the national debt, etc. etc. I would rather pay higher taxes and get more benefits, like health care that's not unreasonably high, or even socialized medicine as they manage to do in other countries. Teachers and other civil servants aren't paid enough; police and the military aren't paid enough for putting their lives on the line.

Concentrating on health care, a tax credit of $5,000 will not be enough for you to buy insurance for your family. And every one of us here is one accident away from bankruptcy.

As far as I'm concerned, McCain is another Bush, same party, same policies, and look where we have gone in the past 8 years. WAY downhill, and it's real hard to argue otherwise.

Why is opening trade embargos good? That's more American money going overseas.

Hypo is totally right about Theresa's "socialized housing" misinformation. The laws have been in place for some time; don't blame a Democratic Congress. We need MORE regulation to keep loan officers and their companies from taking advantage of people they know won't be able to pay back their loans. They didn't care because they knew the loan would be packaged and resold and would not be on their company's list when the client filed for bankruptcy.

The Constitution wasn't set up for a two-party system, but it's self-perpetuating. I'm afraid to vote for one of the smaller parties because if the nut-cases win, it's Armageddon. If it makes you happier, I did vote for a 3rd-party candidate for Congress.

couple things about this country

One i know its rough and I have lived without this for many years now but there is nothing in the constitution or bill of rights that say you have a right to health care or anythign of that matter .. If you go to the hospital on an mergency you will not get turned away ...

Two People bitch an complain about the war .. well if you do an early pull out they win not us they an you know who they are ..they are the people who want ot see this country burn .. extreme yo usay i think not .. the theories that we blew up the two towers an the pentagon are BS !! Could things have been done better yer .. Do i blame bush foe the war .. NO .. i blame the information he was given ..but in this country someone has to be blamed so why not right ..

Taxes .. lets talk about a local matter .. SLOTS ... well lets see our last gov couldnt get anything done because of out majority rules house an senate ... now we have this one who has been given the worst grade of any goivoner in the last 5 yrs who raises taxes then says if we the people of maryland do not pass slots then he will have ot raise taxes again .. HMM think about that ... I do nto want ot hear OBama or McCain will not raise taxes its going ot happen ..

I will not call a canidate evil or dictator because i am pretty dam nsure that will nto happen in our lifetime an ti think some of you are gong a bit extreme to even mention it ..

One believes in supporting the military which i beleive in to the fullest and I know that one canidate will cut our military just as did 2 former democratic presidents ..

Also lets look at the second admendment again .. big issue ,.. one canidate will not really touch it because he knows if he were to that he would loose voters .. the gun world knows what his positions are on these an guess what this directly effects me an how i make a living at this point in time .. but the other canidate isnt much better .

we as a society since lbj have dumped 8 trillion into programs for the poor, just federaly. we still have poor.
the dirty little secret is rich poeple never pay taxes no matter how high you raise it on them, they will increase cost, find loop hole move money out of the country or themselves out and their companies.

its about dependance plain and simple, people become dependant on the goverment for all thier wants and needs,
eventualy the amount they receive becomes smaller and smaller but people become too afraid to vote out their benifactors as thier situation diminishes. fear of having to do it on thier own keeps the rich assholes in power who put them in this situation in the first place.

i have a better plan.
every rich liberal in this country will take on the well being of 1 wellfair family for every $100,000 they make, no longer will a caullus faceless goverment be responsible for them but they will have a name and a face for thier benifactor! in return all the rich liberals will recive a $100,000 tax exemption for each family they take into thier care. this plan is brillant as 10% of the american people have 90% of the wealth and 6.9% are unemployed. warren bufet alone could care for 56,000 familys all on his own! and since the average wellfair family recives between $25,000-$30,000 in benifits a year and the current tax rate is 31% in people makeing 100,000 or more (and goes up higher and you make more) they will actualy pay less......unless they feel generious! And with entitlement out of the federal budget, we can make enormous cuts and return to a smaller government.

you were right about one thing though, OBAMA shouldn't have to pay for his Family who he DOESNT KNOW!!! and neither should ANYBODY ELSE!!!
