I don't think we should make a model that we can all take because that will weaken the army where the model originated. For example, if we allow everyone to have a giant, that will weaken goblins because they are not getting anything new, but everyone else gets to use the giant. It also removes some of the uniqueness of the army who's unit now everyone gets to use. I vote no!

Party pooper
Actually, almost everyone can take a giant via Dogs of War (I think the Goblin one is cheaper though because it is part of the list, Stupid O&G get everything and are toughness 4 base. . . grrr), but you have a point.

Hmmm, what kind of competition then . . .

I thought all the dogs of wars references were being removed from the army books, which means no one can take them if they are not in their army lists. I could be wrong as I'm new to this. Can you please double-check that?

Huh, don't know. That would be a shame.

However, I came up with the idea after seeing a build off in a WD, and now today on GW.com:
The fifth instalment of A Tale of Four Gamers is now live; this time the guys focus on creating a centrepiece for their respective Warhammer armies, and show what can be achieved by lavishing a little extra time and attention on their miniatures (I particularly liked the way Christian painted his Empire Steam Tank and made it looked like a fantastic and well-used relic).
A centerpiece model, yeah, that's what I was thinking. Don't know what the contest is, but that's a better way of putting it.

Ahh, so you want us to have really cool looking armies =) I'm game! I can tell you that I'm loving modding my ogres! It's quite fullfiling.

Oh, and to clarify, if I look in the Ogre errata, it says: "Dogs of War - Ignore all references to Dogs of War."

Well, I can't find anthing specific yet, but they are not in the Beastiary, which lends credence to what you said. The most I've seen is that the list is discontinued (which usually means you can't get models for it anymore, but you can so . . .) and not tournament legal. However, you can still play with unofficial lists in fun games (with opponent consent), and they write those up in WD all the time. Also, I can see why they would remove the references about DoW from the Ogre book as Ogre Kindoms is a spin off of the DoW list. There may have been a conflict, like taking too many units as core, special, or rare.

I really don't understand why it takes them so long to write a book, or why not continue a book that is already out. They must not have sold at all.

Hey Jeff,

I was looking for some of Warhammer crap and I can't seem to find my paint and tool case. I'm not sure if it just didn't get packed from my parents' house or it got left at your place way back when.

Ouch, that sucks. The dreaded "Lost in the move" army. I think almost everyone of us has experienced that at one time or another.

Dwarves are easy. Decide on colors (generally) and I can help you (after you clean the black blob on the floor of the garage).

Arn't you guys brothers . . . wouldn't you have the same coat of arms? (Stirs pot)

I actually thought you were referring to colored blobs on the garage floor at first. I know you're tight with Nurgle and all.

Hey, question. Can a character join a war machine crew? Is a Characher awarded a "Look Out Sir" for being within however many inches of a war machine?

Ahh, I found an alternate use for my overgrown Doom Flayer (supposedly, this was in a WD):

This is exactly why I avoided skaven at first! Absolutly hideous!
