That makes me sad. I wonder why they paid 4 billion only to shut it down. They just wanted the name? I am thinking they must be thinking they will do something more with the star wars universe..

They wanted Star Wars they don't care about the gaming. They can have Pixar (Walt Disney) design there upcoming games with goofy has hans and mickey as luke and everyone will run out and buy it cuz it is cute. :vomit:

They actually announced before the buy out that there would be no more stand alone games. There sales for games haven't been great. Which is odd as most of there games have been awesome.

There seems to be some confusion here. LucasArts is just the video game branch of LucasFilms. We're not talking about shutting down the entire company that was once run by Lucas. We're talking about shutting down a branch. And frankly LucasArts has always sucked. They've been behind the curve for a good while. Their engines were always 3+ years behind everyone else. The only thing they ever have going is that it's freaking Star Wars. I welcome the change. Now they'll license the franchise to real video game company. Look at what Relic has been able to do with 40k. Dawn of War and Space Marine were both fantastic. That's what I expect to start seeing in a couple years for Star Wars.
