Join the Northern Region for a day of grand melee combat right after Challenge of the Heart.

Inspections start at 10am.
Immediately afterwards (or by 11:00am at the latest) the fun will begin. We will start the day with three sets of three field battles. Between the sets there will be brief breaks (under 5 minutes) for water and strategic discussion on what worked and what the teams need to do to improve. Then we will move onto limited front and resurrection battles. Combat archery will be allowed in each scenario.

Directions:
From Washington's Capital Beltway (I-95): Take Route 4 South into Calvert County.

From the Baltimore Beltway (I-695): Take Route 301 South to Route 4.

From Virginia: Take US Route 301 across the Potomac to Maryland Route 5 in Waldorf. Turn right on 5 and travel about 10 miles to Route 231. Turn left, follow 231 across the Patuxent River to Prince Frederick and turn left on MD Route 4.

From Route 4: At Huntingtown, turn on Old Town Road (Rt. 524); proceed to Bowen's Grocery Store and turn on Huntingtown Road. At the 4-way stop sign intersection; continue straight and you will be on King's Landing Road. The road dead-ends in the park.

Yours in service,
Abel

Here's info for the rest of the weekend for Challenge of the Heart:
http://acorn.atlantia.sca.org/event_fly ... d=c1c710e8

"There will be an Armoured tournament for teams of three to honor Love and Glory. Each team will choose which side they fight for. Teams fighting for love must be sponsored by a Lady." yadda yadda yadda

Plus archery and rapier tournaments and arts & science competitions.

The site is Kings Landing Park (3255 King’s Landing Road, Huntingtown, MD 20639).

You guys could kick some ass in three-man teams.

Are you guys going to either Challenge of the Heart or the war practice? If you're going Saturday, the site fee includes lunch.

I would vote to only go on sunday. I'm not much of a turney fighter. I big battles where i can smash my enemies, see them driven before me and hear the lamentation of the women..
