able take the field.) Marshals may only marshal when their kingdom is

One team shall be chosen and singled out for their acts of honour and
courtesy, and shall be named the most chivalrous team and rewarded
accordingly and will take equal honour as those who are victorious.
Entry requirements - Each Kingdom of the Known world may select 10
combatants and 5 substitutes. All of the combatants must be authorized
in Heavy Weapons and must not have received the accolade of chivalry.
Each kingdom must also bring two knights to help marshal the
tournament.

The Warriors of History Tournament
An unbelted tournament for documentable kits that meet the standards of
the Fedoratii of the Duchy Von Drachenklaue: Order of the Cataphract.
Inspired by the awesome kits of the Battle of the 30, it is our desire
to hold an unbelted tournament held to the standards of our House
Order: the participants must be documentable from a spears' throw
(forgiving safety items). The goal is to encourage and inspire
excellence of kit on the field. This idea and the standards which we
set will cause a tremendous amount of tumult amongst the purists. We
know this.
This year's tourney will be themed: "Axes of the Ages"! Bring a Axe
that fits your persona. Format - TBD (a melee and singles fighting) Two
Winners will be selected. The Tournament Winner (martial prowess) will
receive the title "Fedoratii Primus Pilus, AS 43". The second winner
will be chosen from amongst the participants as "best kit in show" and
receive the title "Fedoratii Signifer, AS 43". Both will be inducted
into the VDK "Order of the Fedoratii", adorned with badge, and receive
material prizes. Prior winners and Merchants are welcome to assist the
Cataphracts in coming up with or creating Tourney Prizes. Spectators
are welcomed and desired. There will be no limit to the number of
participants. All are encouraged to represent our Society with the best
look possible.
Entry requirements - Participants must: appear as if he walked from the
pages of history at a spear throws distance. His/Her appearance in
Armour should inspire others to excellence and must have no glaringly
un-documentable aspects (beyond those required for safety - ie: basket
hilts, bargrills, cops, gauntlets, etc). Rule of thumb: if you can
document it you can have it – to include kits based on period works of
art.

Entrants:

Any non-Chivalry who desire and meet the standards may participate.
Unbelted Peers may participate, and may become the Tournament Winner
but may NOT win the "best kit in show" prize. (It is our expectation
that all Peers would already have inspiring and "historically accurate"
kits, and thus do not need an event such as this to encourage and
celebrate.) Additionally, by placing the focus on non-Peers we hope to
raise the level of accuracy for the next "generation" of SCA fighter.
After all, it is Peers who are most often emulated. If we can, in some
small way, make better looking Peers next generation, subsequent
generations will be that much better. Therefore, Pelicans and Laurels
may win the martial aspect of the Tourney, but not the
appearance/"historical accurate" aspect of the tourney.
New for this year: - Chivalry whose kits are documentable and
acceptable to the Armour Laurels may participate in the opening "Melee
of the Ages". They may not participate in the tournament, but they are
welcome to hold their own Tournament on the side. We will not be able
to provide a MoL for this endeavor.
Final admittance on the day will be by approval of two Armour Laurels
(TBD) and His Grace Duke Lucan von Drachenklaue

Guaranteed rejections:

Exposed modern footwear. Period footwear is preferred. All effort must
be made to make modern footwear appear as period as possible.
Street Hockey Gloves UNLESS covered / colored to look like real
Gaunts/gloves (similar to footwear rule).
Exposed plastic to include plastic lamellar
"Casserole" armour. Casserole: mis-mash of time periods. e.g. Churburg
brestplate with a Dura helm and Wisby gauntlets and etc... (all these
are documentable by themselves, but centuries apart).
Inappropriate persona/arms combination: (Viking with a heater,
great-swording Roman, madu, etc)
A t-tunic over 'football' pads or similar look.

Dwarves vs Giants Tourney
A mix of melees, single combats, small group combats, and whatever else
people feel like doing, depending in part on relative numbers. One side
consists of dwarves (no more than five and a half feet tall), the other
of giants (at least six and a quarter feet tall).
Entry requirements - Height of either no more than five and a half feet
or no less than six and a quarter feet.

The Storming of La Rochelle
Heavy Rapier and Rubber Band Gun Melee at the fort. Rubber band cannons
are welcome. It is requested that anyone who has not participated in
this tournament read the detailed rules at the marshal’s tent before
arriving. Attackers get unlimited resurrection, defenders limited
resurrection. Please muster AT THE FORT 1/2 half hour before the start
time, especially if you want to fight along with a particular group.
Time permitting, we will let Kingdom/Principality Rapier Champions and
holders of Kingdom/Principalities' highest award for Rapier see how
long they can hold out against the Known World!

1300.
Combat Conventions for the Tourney:

A solid blow to any legal target area is considered incapacitating.
Anyone who cannot recover a dropped weapon before their opponent can
touch them with his sword has lost
Anyone who falls and cannot recover before their opponent can touch
them with his sword has lost
There will be 2 prizes given, one for the victor in competition, and

I.33 Manual (appearance will be factored in). The manual can be viewed
at http://www.thehaca.com/Manuals/i33/i33.htm.

Plate and Mail Tourney

warrior wearing predominately steel armour (mild, stainless, spring
etc. are all acceptable). No exposed plastic. Even nicely covered
plastic doesn't count as plate. (Completely hidden plastic to reinforce
mail - I'll ask you why you didn't use leather, but it is acceptable).

Predominately steel armour is defined as a historically appropriate
steel body harness, helm, elbows, and knees, as well as steel covering
two of the four following areas: upper arm, lower arm, upper leg, and
lower leg. (A long body harness, such as a mail haurberk will count as
covering the upper legs if of sufficient length).
A predominately steel harness is most common in Europe, from 1050 on,
but certainly other cultures did wear them. If you think there may be
questions concerning the historical appropriateness of your armour,
feel free to bring documentation.

Combat Conventions for the Tourney - Armour as Worn with Counted blows
received.

Blow Standards
Mail gets three, transitional plate and mail mix gets five, rich folks
with the Maximilian plate get 7.
Judges reserve the right to grant an extra blow for a particularly nice
portrayal (documentation is a plus).
Anyone receiving a blow or thrust to a body part not covered by steel
immediately loses.
Blows from one handed swords do not have to be counted if they strike a
steel covered area.
Anyone receiving a thrust or blow to an open faced (bar grilled for
safety) helm immediately loses.
Anyone receiving a thrust to a helm that has a period appropriate
grilled visor (a grilled great bascinet for example) counts as a blow.
A dropped weapon does not stop the fight.
Whoever falls and cannot recover before their opponent can touch them
with his weapon has lost.
Anyone who is driven from the list has lost.
