Markland Archery Rule Change

Post by MorGrendel »

This still needs to be voted on, but I see no reason it will not go through.

8. Bows and Crossbows:
a. The maximum draw length anywhere on the bow must be less than 29"
b. At a 29” draw length the bow should not exceed a 30 lbs draw weight, and a total of 600 inch/pounds.
c. A crossbow must not exceed 600 inch-pounds. However, it may incorporate a higher poundage bow as the draw length is fixed, so long as it stays beneath the 600 inch-pound total. The number of inch pounds is determined by multiplying the length of the power stroke in inches by the pounds of pull at the locked position on the string. (The pull weight is to be measured at the nut--i.e., string position when the crossbow is cocked.)
d. No pulleys or modern sights are allowed on bows or crossbows.
e. Bows and crossbows may not be used to strike an opponent, nor may they be used as a shield against rattan weapons.
